Changes to the Food Labelling Rules

As mentioned in a previous news article the food labelling rules are about to change. There will be time given to adopt those new rules however by providing appropriate information on the label (complying with the new labelling rules), consumers can more easily compare foods and may choose your product over the competitors produce.

Here are two main changes?

1.  Mandatory nutrition information

Energy content, fat and saturated fat, carbohydrates and sugars, protein and salt content. Salt must not be declared in SODIUM

2. Mandatory Allergen Awareness

In the list of ingredients the allergens must be emphasised through a typeset which distinguishes them from the rest of the ingredients.
