The BRCGS Start! Programme has been developed to complement the Global Standard for Food Safety. The basic and intermediate level requirements of the START! Programme provide a recognised stepping stone towards possible certification to the full BRCGS Food Safety Standard.
This standard cannot be applied to food products that do not undergo any process at the audited site, or to activities relating to wholesale, importation, distribution or storage outside the direct control of the company.
BRCGS frequently (typically every 3 years) updates the standards in line with newly emerging developments and GFSI requirements.
The current BRCGS Start Standard is in Issue 1.
Be aware that BRCGS may publish several position statements and guidance documents during the life cycle of the standard. These additional statements and guidance documents may be binding to the certification audit process.
There are several aspects to consider when implementing and/or maintaining a BRCGS standard. Professional and correct advise is crucial. Do not hesitate to contact Ulrich today.
