The BRCGS Storage & Distribution Standard is specifically designed for logistics operations dealing with food, packaging, and consumer products. It is flexible as business can implement the full standard or a scope relevant to their operation e.g. storage only or distribution only.
This standard cannot be applied to activities relating to manufacture of packaging or food or sole agent & broker activities.
BRCGS frequently (typically every 3 years) updates the standards in line with newly emerging developments and GFSI requirements.
The current BRCGS Storage & Distribution is in Issue 4.
Be aware that BRCGS may publish several position statements and guidance documents during the life cycle of the standard. These additional statements and guidance documents may be binding to the certification audit process.
Contracted Service Modules
These have been designed allow a business site to demonstrate compliance to specific sets of requirements to meet market or consumer requirements. The contracted service modules can be added to any of the full certification audits and include e.g. contract -packaging, -chilling, -inspections or – assembly.
